JOs Diner - Brandon: Classic Southern Comfort Food & Friendly Atmosphere

The food was delicious! So excited to have a new restaurant in Brandon and we have always loved Jo’s Diner in Flowood so we were glad to hear this was now open.

Mannn idk how this place only has 3.9 stars but i came here from out of town visiting family and tried their shrimp and grits. When I tell you I may need counseling after eating something so good! I may need to sue them for good trauma! 10/10 i recommend! I met the lovely soul who prepared our meals named Ms. Dean! She is very sweet really down to earth! Also it is very affordable and I was full! Go here try the shrimp and grits, thank me later!

Stopped in at Jo’s Diner on a rare morning trip to Brandon and got my hands on a Southern Breakfast to try. They said “short stack” on the menu so I assumed I was going to have some silver dollars stacked up or two regular sized. Instead, I got all 3 and ended up way more full than I thought I’d be. The food was good and atmosphere chill despite them being so busy. My only disappointment was that they didn’t have a liquor license yet, according my good server Mylea, and I look forward to trying something off of it one day if I get the chance. All in all it was a 4/5, enjoyable breakfast experience that I look forward to trying again one day soon.

Cool little 50’s style diner. It’s a meat and 3 option and daily special also. The daily comes with a dessert too. Monday is red beans and rice. That’s what I got. I liked it, but it does have onion that was not sautéed all the way and was topped with jalapeños so a heads up if that’s not your taste. I got the banana pudding for dessert and it was very tasty too. $14 plus a drink. Fair price for portion size in my opinion.

My husband and I ate breakfast and it was better than homemade. Pure delicious. Shrimp and Grits were awesome . And gravy biscuits with sausage was amazing. Service was superior. Can't wait to try another item off their menu!

Food is great and everything comes out quick and hot! It’s so refreshing seeing a place with young workers instead of a bunch of older staff. I’m glad this place gives the younger generation opportunities and a place to work instead of turning them away. I’ve been twice and both times I was served by a young man named Josh. The service was great and he was so kind and understanding of my young daughter’s complicated order! It came out just how she wanted it and she loved it! I WILL recommend this place to my friends and family and i will definitely be coming back myself as well!
